May Updates: New Features, Better Submissions, and More

Before diving into our updates, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to me, as I continue personally reaching out and writing each email to each one of you. The feedback has been incredibly encouraging — hearing how the platform is genuinely making a difference helps us sleep a little better at night (on the nights we’re not up late making the platform work better for ya'll 😅).
Here are a couple of standout comments from my exchanges:
...incredibly well! It cuts out the time I would be spending rooting through casting calls and self-submitting, and I can just submit as the casting directors select me!
...It made the audition process so much easier for me, especially since I tend to forget to log in daily. Knowing submissions were happening automatically gave me peace of mind and helped me stay more consistent and actually gave me callbacks (which I hadnt seen in a while)
To share some statistics - Over the last 30 days alone, we submitted our artists who signed up for the trial to over 2,300 roles combined — all without charging a single cent.
No rosters. No middlemen. Just real actors getting consistently getting a shot at real opportunities. We’re not a talent agency (yet) — but if Ari Gold was reimagined for the digital age, this is where he’d be starting 😉 Seriously though — when’s the last time your rep sent out 244 submissions in 30 days. We’re not here to follow the old rules. We’re here to rewrite the playbook but more on that in a bit.

You asked, we delivered. We’ve rolled out the new Submission Feedback feature, allowing you to upvote or downvote roles with a quick reason. This helps us refine your role preferences and better align future submissions with what you actually want. Your feedback directly shapes our matching engine, so keep it coming!

📜 Streamlined Role Submission Details
Now, you can access consistent submission information across both the Dashboard and the Discover section. This update ensures you stay informed about the roles you’re already submitted to while exploring new opportunities without losing context.

🎯 Auto-Apply Preferences Redirect
We noticed that many users weren’t setting up their auto-apply preferences, leading to mismatched submissions. Now, during onboarding, you’ll be redirected to the Auto-Apply Preferences page. Take a moment to refine your preferences so we can focus on roles that align with your goals.

🛠️ What’s Next?
We’re sketching out a much larger, futuristic vision for CastmeNow — one that goes beyond just auto-submissions and helps artists like you flip the script using AI. Right now, we’re focused on getting you more opportunities, but what if we could do even more to empower you as an artist?
Imagine a platform that not only automates submissions but also provides actionable insights into what roles are resonating with casting directors, suggests ways to sharpen your portfolio based on emerging trends, and even helps you negotiate deals to get you higher paying contracts using data-backed leverage.
The mission is clear: How do we put artists back in control without them getting squeezed from every angle? Reps and agencies take their cut, often leaving you with less than you deserve. We’re figuring out a way to flip that model — using AI as your personal, strategic assistant, putting the power back in your hands.
